It has been said by some earth is a prison where we are all doing hard time While others would deny this claiming that the world is none the worse for wear In either case both extremes are not likely candidates to whom God wants to draw near Neither acknowledges God in their daily ways; hence, unwilling to trust anything to His care
Maybe that’s because God’s been excised from our thoughts via the relentless hands of time No more obvious than in America where the public mention of God is like a hate crime Which would insult our forefathers who for that very reason left their homes behind To come to America drawn by God’s beacon of light which today barely shines
A light which guided America on the path of faith, now grown dim in the shadow of it’s fear Causing this great country to stumble in sin’s darkness, groping about in the twilight of it’s years Loving vice more than virtue we espouse tolerance at the expense of truth to keep peace here But that will not excuse us when Jesus upon the clouds in glory without warning quickly appears
God’s intention for America was that it would impart the blessing of freedom to mankind Not to run from God and refuse to bring His message of salvation to all it could possibly find Lulled to sleep by our all to numerous blessings we chose rather to retreat from the battle lines Preferring to avoid God’s call we locked the doors of our hearts and for safety drew the blinds
America has forgotten God’s promise that our eyes have not seen or have we heard with our ears What God has for those that really love Him started in heaven to earnestly on our behalf prepare They are not things of this earth, like nothing ever seen, no framework to which we can compare But America has a really long way to go, a lot to repent for, before we even get half way there
The only way this will happen is if we but humble ourselves before God as a penitent nation Submit ourselves to His will and obey His commandments and call without further hesitation Then and only then we’ll be on track to walk with Him whose Father’s heart desires right relation As we close the gap between Him and us we’ll see him reaching out with His arms of salvation
But if we avoid His embrace, America will spiral ever downward, it won’t have even a prayer Upon God’s radar screen it will become a feint blip, slowly fade and then all but disappear However, God freely offers the warmth of His love to melt away all our anxieties and cares As well as thaw our cold hearts covered with apathy’s ice awash in a sea of crocodile tears!
